The Great North Air Ambulance Service provides charity funded, world-class critical care to the North East, Cumbria, North Yorkshire and Northumberland.

Life-saving paramedics and doctors are scrambled to more than 1000 incidents every year. Patients can receive specialist treatment at the scene before being transferred to a major trauma unit by helicopter in a fraction of the time a road ambulance would take.

Each mission costs more than £4500, which means they need to raise £5.2 million every year to keep flying and saving lives.

By trekking for the Great North Air Ambulance Service, you are part of their every mission. Thank you.

GNAAS Lemosho Route

01 February 2021 - 10 February 2021

Located in Tanzania, just south of the equator, at 5895m Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain on the African continent.  The Lemosho route starts to the west of Kilimanjaro and traverses the Shira plateau before climbing the Barranco wall and ascending to Uhuru Peak via Stella Point.  The Lemosho route is one of the quieter routes on the mountain.  Our 8 day itinerary allows plenty of time for acclimatization and has a very high success rate.
