If you have a climbing wall on your site, then your Staff should be qualified to use and to deliver safe sessions on it. There are National Governing Body Awards that your Staff could undertake to achieve qualification to work on and run activities on your climbing facility however, these can be costly and unnecessary as your Staff may only be required to work on your specific wall.
Monkey Mountaineering can offer Site Specific Staff Training that will allow your Staff to run safe and effective sessions on your climbing wall. On our Site-Specific training course, your Staff will be trained in all aspects of current best practice to be able to use your wall to its full potential.
The following elements/services are included in a Monkey Mountaineering Site Specific Training course:
Course delivered by fully qualified and experienced Mountaineering and Climbing Instructors.
All training tailored to the specifics of your site.
Training delivered at a time and date to suit you and your Staff.
Site Specific statement of competence for all Staff trained valid for 1 year.
No, Site specific training is generally only valid for the named, specific venue. If you need a qualification that is transportable between venue then you may want to consider the Climbing Wall Instructor award.
Most Site Specific qualifications are valid for one year. After this time Staff will require a re-assessment.
The duration of the course depends on how much experience your Staff already have. If they have no previous climbing experience then you should allow two days for training and one day for assessment.
